‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 trailer: Emilia Clarke, action, and so much more
Prior to the start of “True Detective” on HBO Sunday night, the network decided to debut something that we know a good many fans all around the world were eagerly awaiting a chance to see: The second major trailer for “Game of Thrones” season 4. Finally, there would be an opportunity to see some brand-new footage, and get excited about this show even more than you were previously (if that was even possible).
This trailer really gives you an opportunity to see just about everything that you would hope for, whether you are talking about action sequences, more dragons, awesome lines from Emilia Clarke as Danaerys, and even some new characters including Pedro Pascal as the Red Viper.
The best moment of the entire trailer, though? Its very opening, where it is all but confirmed that Arya Stark is now setting out to do what she wants with her hit list: Find everyone who has wronged her family, and then slowly destroy them. She’s basically the young, killer version of that character Melissa McCarthy played in a “Saturday Night Live” sketch a little while ago.
There are also some glimpses in here of the potential wedding between Joffrey and Margaery Tyrell, Peter Dinklage delivering some great zingers about justice, and also a particularly haunting shot at the end. This trailer gives you almost everything you want in the way of new footage, and does do without even getting to a two-minute run time.
Is it April 6 already? That date cannot come soon enough.
