‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9: More news from the show’s finale table-read

Get ready -Just how emotional was the final table-read for “How I Met Your Mother“? Let’s just put it this way: There were even more tears and nostalgic moments than has happened already.

Earlier this weekend, we posted a few reactions from the event courtesy of some of the show’s stars, which were mostly just many mentions about how they could not prepare for how they would feel despite being a part of the series for so long. You know that you’re looking at a heck of an emotional episode if that is the case, since they have already gone through some of the rounds of having “last days” doing some familiar things on the show like visiting sets or working with specific characters.

Speaking to Us Weekly, an insider from the table read shed a little more light on everything in general that was going on:

“Everyone was tearing up … It’s a great last episode, people are feeling really good about it. Cobie [Smulders] was next to Neil [Patrick Harris], Alyson [Hannigan] was next to Jason [Segel], everybody was sharing sad smiles. Everybody has lived with these characters for so long.”

The final episodes of the series are going to start taping in the days ahead, which means that all of the cast will have to start preparing themselves for the difficult process of saying goodbye. We can imagine that for many of them, this is understandably not going to be an easy thing to do since they have inhabited this world for almost a decade.

This is probably one of the reasons why so many people have already found some other projects to get them going almost right away. Alyson Hannigan already has a new pilot, Neil Patrick Harris will be off to Broadway, and Cobie Smulders has an opportunity to do more TV. As for Josh Radnor and Jason Segel, we imagine that they will be more focused on things when it comes to the big screen.
