‘Supernatural’ season 9 video: Misha Collins falls victim to classic prank as director

While you may have heard much earlier this season that Misha Collins was going to direct an episode of “Supernatural” this season, that moment first came last week when he sat down in the chair and really started to churn out footage for the show. We imagine that there were many great and wonderful things that came out of this experience … and then, he also got a pie in the face.

This pie incident was a part of an elaborate scheme seemingly orchestrated by series stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who somehow find the time between filming hundreds of scenes and being dads to actually still have a little fun. It’s a pretty hysterical moment made even more hysterical by Jared’s enthusiastic reaction to it … and also him coming back up and licking Misha’s face at the end.

Ironically, directing is something that Jensen actually knows pretty well already, having done so for “Supernatural” before. We imagine that he could also do so again in the future, though he opted to take a little bit of time this season instead to spend with his family after welcoming a brand new addition to his family.

All in all, this is just another dose of good fun that makes us love “Supernatural” even more than we already did; apparently, that is possible. New episodes return to The CW Tuesday, February 25, and we will have more updates along the way.
