‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: New events hinted at in Instagram ‘trailer’ (video)

This is one of the many joys of technology these days: Getting to give you more and more content in as compressed a form as humanly possible. From a marketing vantage point, it may be more effective to give you a few tiny teases of content here and there than just one extended trailer, and having you wait for many months to see what is next.

Maybe in the end, you can take this as a little bit of evidence as to why “Game of Thrones” has done what they have with their brand-new season 4 trailer. In just looking at this clip from a surface-level perspective, the biggest moment that stands out here is the wedding that is going to be taking place between King Joffrey and Margaery Tyrell. In the end, this moment may even go down in history, especially when you consider everything that it took from Sansa Stark onward to make it to this point. Both Joffrey and Margaery were each at one point tied to another, but maneuvering has got each one of them as far as it has.

This clip is actually meant more to promote the “Foreshadowing” special (airing tomorrow night at 8:45 p.m. Eastern time) even more so than it is the actual season 4 premiere on April 6, but it should be yet another reason for you to flip over to HBO before “True Detective.” This will be a nice chance to reflect on previous events, but also potentially an opportunity to look forward to what is to come on the show’s most exciting season yet.
