ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: Two ‘Lost’ alumni to play Fitz, Mellie’s kids
“Scandal” is finally going to be lifting the veil on the rest of the Grant family, and in the process, they are practically paying homage to a personal favorite in “Lost.”
According to a report from TVLine, the show has cast Dylan Minnette as well as Madeline Carroll in these very-key roles, and they will appear in at least one episode moving forward into the third season. Both actors have a history of playing children of other characters on TV; heck, Carroll also has roles on other Shonda Rhimes series such as “Private Practice.”
But to us, the “Lost” connections that are present here are probably the most interest. In the case of the former, Carroll specifically played the daughter of Jack on the landmark ABC drama series, whereas Minnette was a friend of a young version of Benjamin Linus. It’s not often that you see a pair of guest stars who already have that sort of common bond, but “Lost” alumni have been popping up all over ABC these days, most notably over on “Once Upon a Time” (whose creators previously worked on the show).
“Scandal” will return on ABC with new episodes starting on Thursday, February 27, which is just three weeks from now. By that time, the Olympic Games in Sochi will be over, and you will be ready to dive in to some more drama from the world of Olivia Pope. There is already a new promotional poster out there for the show, though you may be somewhat surprised upon first looking at it when it comes to how little familiar things and themes from the show are implemented.
