‘How I Met your Mother’ season 9, episode 18 preview: ‘Rally,’ and Barney’s hangover

Are we set to see another new episode of “How I Met Your Mother” next week? Far from it. Instead, the Winter Olympics are going to put the final episodes of the series on hold for a little while. The next installment, entitled “Rally,” is going to air on Monday, February 24, and while there may not be that much known about it just yet, we can at least say that there will be a guest appearance from Ray Wise as Robin’s father, and also more madness pertaining to Barney as he tries to work his way out of his recent drunken stupor.

“When Barney suffers from the world’s worst hangover the morning of his wedding, the gang tries to figure out the far-fetched ingredients to concoct the Stinson Hangover Fixer Elixir.”

What does this elixir contain? That is probably going to be one of the more hysterical parts of the episode, since you get to see one last dive into the great mythology of Barney. Tonight’s episode was a story all about how he willingly passed the baton on to someone else when it comes to his playbook, but with his history of hangovers, there has to be something entertaining that happens here.

What we are mostly curious about now is how the final few episodes are going to go or what they are going to cover. After all, we have just seen Robin and Ted resolve things, and Lily’s fight with Marshall is also now over. Where is the drama going to come up the rest of the way?
