Renewals: ‘Top Chef’ season 12, ‘Banshee’ season 3 official

Top Chef -How about this for some news about a pair of different cable shows? A pair of programs that you may very much lover are each going to be coming back for another season.

Let’s start here with “Top Chef,” which will e returning once again in the fall for a landmark 12th season. This news was practically confirmed the moment that the last season in New Orleans premiered, and we mean that in the way that there was never really any doubt here at all. This is Bravo’s most-popular competition show by a mile, it has a reasonably amount of critical acclaim, and fans still seem to like most of what the show does. All of this really measures up to be a recipe for success.

Where could the series go next year? There is a different main setting every year, so we are going to throw this out there now: Boston. You can expand it to New England if you like, and you get all of the great seafood, some classic dishes, and take advantage of some of the amazing food culture that is up there. You could also even travel up to Quebec, where they have an interesting array of dishes. Other strong contenders we could see someday include either Atlanta or maybe St. Louis, if you wanted to go for something more in the heartland. Otherwise, it may be in your best interest to either revisit old cities or head international.

Meanwhile, Cinemax’s “Banshee” has also been brought back for another season, in what is news that is just as equally not-shocking. This is a show that has developed a pretty dedicated following over the past couple of years, even if there are not a ton of people who are very aware of it. This does at least guarantee now that a series executive-produced by Alan Ball makes it into to 2015, which is not going to happen to “True Blood” now. That show, which has made it an impressive seven years on the air, is going to be coming to a close a little later this year.

Which one of these shows are you the most excited to see back on the air again in the near future? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below! Also, click here to read our full review of this past “Top Chef” episode, and you can sign up now to get even more TV updates from us every week.
