NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 spoilers: Paget Brewster opens up about role
While you may already know that Thursday night’s “Community” is going to feature a particularly memorable appearance from Nathan Fillion, there is also going to be another notable guest star: Paget Brewster. For those of you who love “Criminal Minds,” this is going to be an opportunity to see her in a very different sort of role in a heck of a funny environment.
But just what sort of role is she ultimately going to play? We can definitely see those sort of questions coming up, and luckily, Brewster was kind enough to explain herself. Speaking on the subject to TVLine, she had the following to say:
“[My character is] an angry IT lady whose office is the [Greendale] basement — and she doesn’t have a parking spot. Jonathan Banks and Alison Brie (as Hickey and Annie) come to me to finagle a favor, and it becomes this ‘quid pro quo’ situation where I then try to get something out of them.”
This episode is going to feature Alison Brie and Jonathan Banks’ characters on some sort of quest throughout the college, where they try to solve a case that somehow involves a good chunk of the faculty and staff. This is also why you are going to see Fillion’ who plays a very valuable member of the janitorial department. The irony here when it comes to his appearance is that it comes only a week after Chang claimed that the actor was his same-sex celebrity crush (a nice little meta moment, indeed). There are even more guests also coming up this week, but we have more on that soon. Stay tuned!
Are you excited to see this appearance from Paget, and do you think that all of this will help balance the sadness over Donald Glover’s exit? Share your thoughts below, and head over here to if you want to celebrate all things great TV via our official CarterMatt Newsletter.

Hell yes! Paget was one of the best little characters in Friends in one of their best seasons. She has the chops to hold her own in Community’s insane universe. I’ve heard that it will have some serious Aaron Sorkin vibes, and screwball-flavored patter is definitely something I’d love to see from Paget.
