‘The X Factor’ UK winner Sam Bailey still waiting to meet Simon Cowell
Is it a bad sign that Simon Cowell still hasn’t spoken to the winner of his most-recent “X Factor” season, or are we instead looking at something that is being made out to be so much more of a big deal in the press? At the moment, we are leaning towards the latter … if for no other reason than that this is January, which happens to be the month where the music mogul spends the vast majority of his time vacationing, and not a lot actually making big decisions in regards to his television shows. It may be for that reason that the American version of “The X Factor” still does not have a decision made on its future.
In turning back to Sam, she explained (per The Mirror) at the National Television Awards recently that she and Cowell have had at least a conversation about what she is meant to do in the short-term, they still have yet to have a formal face-to-face meeting about the direction of her career:
“I haven’t met him, I’ve spoken to him on the phone and he’s told me not to hold back, to go out there, say what I mean and live the dream.”
Do we feel like Simon is going to have a chance to sit down and speak her in the future? Definitely, given that he is about to situate himself in Britain for most of the first half of 2014 thanks to “Britain’s Got Talent” filming. He may end up actually staying around for a little while longer, and that is all thanks to the fact that even if the American version returns, he may not be an on-camera presence anymore for a variety of different reasons.
Sam recently got an opportunity to both perform and record with Michael Bolton, and should have out some sort of album later this year.
