‘The Good Wife’ season 5, episode 11 preview: ‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend’

Who says this quote on “The Good Wife” on Sunday’s all new episode?

In the scene below, you can see a discussion between Preston and Will, where the two start off a conversation by mentioning a name that may in some ways now be a pretty sore subject: Alicia. This is the woman that left Lockhart Gardner, started her own firm, and is becoming more and more a massive thorn in the side of Will as the two start to compete for cases.

The issue regarding this case is simple: Preston informs Will that Alicia has taken on a copyright-infringement case, and Will offers to work alongside him to defeat her. His strategy? Thanks to so many years of working with her (among doing other things), he has a better understanding of how she works than anyone else out there. He knows all of her weaknesses, and the best way to make her intimidated (seemingly) within a courtroom setting.

Unfortunately for Will, Preston still doesn’t really seem to be that interested in working with him … mostly because, in his words, he just “doesn’t like him.” Meanwhile, will responds by saying that this really doesn’t matter, and what is more important than anything else is that the two manage to win the case, and “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” There we are, back to the quote and to square one here. It will be interesting to see whether or not this is enough to cause Preston to bite, and to take this case to the next level.
