Christmas Week TV: Are ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ ‘The Blacklist’ new tonight?

As we started off yesterday, we’re going to be serving as your quick programming guide throughout the holiday season, especially when it comes to answering a very important question: What’s actually coming on TV tonight?

Let’s start with the basic answer here in “not much,” at least in the way of regular programming. We’re speaking here in terms of some of the regular programming that may or may not be coming on tonight.

CBS – Sorry, fans of “How I Met Your Mother,” “2 Broke Girls,” and the rest of the standard lineup. You’re out of luck here, since networks figure that you’re going to be shopping / hanging out with family over watching the show.

NBC – There is some new programming tonight, but “The Voice” and “The Blacklist” are over. Instead, you’ve got the two-hour finale of “The Sing-Off” followed by the holiday special for “Hollywood Game Night.” This is actually our recommendation, since both are fun entertainment that the whole family can enjoy.

Fox – Nothing new. Heck, there is not even a new “Almost Human” tonight. That’s proof of just how little there is in the way of new programming, since Fox has to be coming close to just burning episodes of that off.

ABC – As we mentioned in the marathon piece, there is a new “The Great Christmas Light Fight” (which we supposed is regularly-scheduled right now), and also some holiday specials. “The Bachelor” is set to premiere January 6.

The CW – Just an iHeartRadio holiday special. No “Hart of Dixie” or “Beauty and the Beast” until January 13.
