NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 spoilers: How Nicholas Cage, Jonathan Banks get involved
Thanks to the “Community” season 5 premiere being just over two weeks away on January 2, the show has been releasing a bevy of news as of late … and the latest bit of it is coming courtesy of the official press release for the second episode of the season.
This episode, entitled “Introduction to Teaching,” will be technically airing on the same day as the premiere, and will also mark a great opportunity to see some more information all about Professor Hickey, the character played by “Breaking Bad” star Jonathan Banks, who will be around for most of the season. This is where Jeff starts to settle into his new job at Greendale, while the study group gets themselves involved in what sounds like a pretty hilarious (but awesome) new class. Take a look at the full synopsis below:
“Jeff (Joel McHale) settles into a new job at Greendale and adjusts to the expectations of being on staff – Professor Hickey (guest star Jonathan Banks, ‘Breaking Bad’) shows him the ropes and shares some pointers on how to manage unruly and demanding students. Meanwhile, Abed (Danny Pudi) convinces the study group to take a new class, ‘Nicolas Cage: Good or Bad,’ with Professor Garrity (guest star Kevin Corrigan, ‘The Dictator’).”
For the record, we are totally siding with “bad” when it comes to Nicholas Cage, and if this episode is in any way, shape, or form like the one about the origins of “Who’s the Boss,” we will be satisfied beyond words. We’re already pleased to see that the show is wasting no time at all getting us into the story, and what we’ve always loved best: Making sure that Greendale remains as interesting of a character as possible through the whole process.
What do you think about the idea of a Nicholas Cage-centered class, and seeing Banks in something that does not involve him being horrifying or killing anyone? (Then again, this is “Community.”) Share what you think below!
