‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7: Discussions with Kaley Cuoco, cast ongoing on future

As we start to approach the holiday season, the cast of “The Big Bang Theory” is hoping for some well-deserved gifts in their stockings, at least in the form of a raise.

So how big are we talking about here? They could make the main three lead cast members (Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, and Johnny Galecki) wealthy enough in order for them to buy the first edition of every comic book on the planet. According to Deadline, getting deals done with these three is the first goal for CBS and studio Warner Bros. TV, and one of the stipulations that could go along with it would be a renewal for three more seasons of the show. This would obviously bring it up to season 10, which would be the next time we were in a situation like this to evaluate the show’s future. There would also be some other issues at play when it comes to licensing fees, which could be pretty expensive and similar to the ones that “Friends” pulled in years ago.

There is little reason to believe that the entire cast (which will also include Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg, as Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik already have deals for next season) will be anything other than happy when this is over, and every indication is that they want to continue on the show. Sitcoms are a great gig to have for a TV star: The money can be great, you get to perform in front of a live audience, and you work a better schedule than most single-camera actors. “The Big Bang Theory” makes a ton of money for everyone involved thanks largely to syndication, which puts it in millions of homes around the country at all hours of the day. It also is the #1 series on broadcast TV, regardless of whether you’re talking about comedies, dramas, or reality shows. The only show higher overall is “The Walking Dead” on AMC.
