‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, Damon Lindelof’s ‘The Leftovers’ featured in new HBO promo
The cool thing about this video, save for reliving some of your favorite moments from “Boardwalk Empire,” “The Newsroom,” and some other shows, is that you can catch a quick glimpse of some shows that you have been eagerly waiting to see more of. For example, the video contains around four or five seconds of “Game of Thrones” season 4 footage starting at around 1:37. That may not be a ton of new footage by any means, but you can at least see Tyrion Lannister, King Joffrey, and also Sansa in the clip … as well as some beautiful sets.
Meanwhile, there is also some footage thrown in here of “Girls” season 3, the Matthew McConaughey series “True Detective” premiering early next year, and also “The Leftovers,” the new series from “Lost” co-showrunner Damon Lindelof starring Justin Theroux as a man trying to make sense of life after the Rapture. (Basically, we like to call it “Left Behind” for the people who are not so Christian.)
While there is still no news yet on the fate of “The Newsroom” (which is believed to be coming back eventually), HBO does still look to have a pretty awesome year or so ahead for it. There are a number of ambitious new shows, the end to a favorite in “True Blood,” and “Game of Thrones” getting to the point now where it is starting to collide with the work of author George R.R. Martin. This is probably going to lead to even more people annoying the you-know-what out of the writer, who has already expressed exasperation at every single person alive asking him when the new book will be done.
