‘Glee’ season 5: Lea Michele to join Paulina Rubio, One Direction on ‘X Factor’ finale week
Even though “Glee” may be off of the air until February, Fox is definitely taking advantage of the opportunity to engage in a little bit of across promotion.
Lea Michele announced on Twitter today that she is going to be joining the lineup of performers for the grand finale on “The X Factor” USA this weekend, and will be joining the likes of Leona Lewis, One Direction, and Mary J. Blige in doing so. No, it should not come as any surprise at all that the majority of these acts are either those on Simon Cowell’s label, or those who are Fox personalities. Hooray for self-promotion! In all seriousness, we’re glad that Lea has the promotional opportunity, and there will also be a familiar face in the audience in Demi Lovato, who is currently in the middle of an arc on the Fox musical comedy.
Paulina Rubio also confirmed recently that she will be performing on the finale this week, but on Wednesday rather than Thursday. What does this mean? To us, it is as simple as her probably performing in some sort of duet with Carlito Olivero, which makes a world of sense given that she is his mentor and the two fill similar spaces in the music industry. There really is no one more perfect at this point to take part in a performance.
Lea released her new single “Cannonball” on iTunes last week, and she made her first TV performance of it on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Her debut album “Louder” is going to be available next year, which is probably also when she will have a chance to succeed on the radio.
