‘Orphan Black’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Suits’ star Patrick J. Adams books role
Who wants to see one great cable TV star supporting another? Well, that is what is going to be happening on the upcoming second season of “Orphan Black” on BBC America.
One of the great things about the way in which Patrick J. Adams of “Suits” is jumping on over to the series is that rather than some other actors out there, he actively campaigned for a guest-starring role prior to even getting the gig. Earlier this summer, he gushed about watching the show, and expressed his steadfast belief that series star Tatiana Maslany really should be nominated for an Emmy for some of her work on the show.
Given that Adams does already have another job, it’s fair to say that we are not looking at a too substantial of a role here. According to Deadline, this role is currently specified for just one episode, where he will be playing the role of Jesse, a man who somehow gets involved with the many clones who Maslany plays on the show. We anticipate there being some chaos, but really only of the best kind imaginable given that this show manages to be both whimsical and also at times extremely dramatic.
“Orphan Black” is set to return both on BBC America as well as Canada’s Space on April 14 of next year, where it will not have the luxury this time around of airing after new episodes of “Doctor Who.” Therefore, the series better hope that some of the buzz about the first handful of episodes and Maslany’s performance will carry over to help give some consistency.
As for “Suits” this show is going to return to USA (as previously reported) in March to finish off its third season. It will be followed up by the new series “Sirens,” which is a comedy starring Denis Leary of “Rescue Me” fame.
