‘The X Factor’ UK results: Did Luke Friend, Tamera Foster, or Nicholas McDonald make final 4?

The latest news -Tonight on “The X Factor” UK, the final four was crowned … but was it the right final four for this season? This was without a doubt the most intense results show to date, since almost anyone going home would be someone who you could see making it further. We’ve made it no secret that we were done with Tamera Foster out of the remaining contestants, mostly just because cumulatively, she has made this most mistakes.

Did the voters agree? Yes, but we cannot agree with their choices as a whole. We would have personally put Nicholas McDonald in the bottom two with her based on his performances this week, but it feels pretty clear now that he and Sam Bailey are probably the two dominant acts in the public vote (since neither has been in the bottom two). This means that Luke Friend, our favorite from last night’s show, was forced to sing for his life.

Now, let’s take a look at how the two performed during the final sing-off, which took place after that controversial performance from reigning champion James Arthur.

Tamera Foster, “The Voice Within” – Did she forget the words AGAIN? Oh boy. Look, we cannot question that Tamera is a great singer, but she needs to figure out a better way to remember the words of her songs. It makes you judge her work ethic, and that’s something that no one is qualified to do without actually being around her during the week.

Luke Friend, “Light Up” – A great performance for Luke. He may be more limited vocally than Tamera, but it feels like he knows right now better who he really is as an artist. Tamera’s probably going to get a record deal anyway, and he deserves to stick around in the competition based on his body of work.

The moment that Gary Barlow for whatever reason decided to take the vote to deadlock, we imagine all the conspiracy freaks getting ready to freak out with their complains that the show is somehow rigged for Tamera to stay, but Luke was the guy who stuck around in the competition, giving us the final four that the competition really does deserve this time around. Grade: B+.
