‘True Blood’ season 7 spoilers: Kristin Bauer van Straten gives more hope to Tara – Pam fans
Have you been shipping Pam and Tara for some time on “True Blood” season 7? Then maybe you will see the following comments from Kristen Bauer van Straten as a serious sign of hope that there are some good things coming for the two in this final season. With the fan passion out there for the two being what it is, and with there also not being much in the way of a viable alternative right now, it is hard to see what other directions that the show could possible take when it comes to the two characters.
Straten herself is certainly making it clear for now that if Pam / Tara is the producers’ ultimately endgame, then she is more than fine to play the character going in that direction. She explained as much in a new interview with Huffington Post Canada, where she had the following to say:
“Ah, that was fun. I love that pairing. I want to find out what happens with that relationship as well. It was so multi-layered. I went through a whole season trying to kill her, and I have to make her, so now she’s my baby, and she’s hot, so now I’m making out with her. [Laughs] I think that’s how life is, it’s messy. I like how — the HBO shows in particular — have those contradictions. Life is lived in the grey area.”
While Bauer van Straten does not say this herself in the discussion, it feels pretty apparent what needs to be in order for the series to try to wrap things up with Pam: She needs to get over the fact that Eric is out there, and may never have the respect for her that she feels like she deserves after a lifetime-plus of being his progeny. She basically abandoned Tara in order to find him near the end of season 6, and while this was probably a good call, that is still not particularly great news for her ability to actually accept another love in her life.
