‘Pretty Little Liars’ spoilers: When is Ashley Benson returning to ‘Ravenswood’?
While the ratings for “Ravenswood” may not be anywhere near the numbers that the flagship “Pretty Little Liars” have pulled in over the course of the past several years, it is still persevering. Not only that, but there is still a major ace in the hole coming with Tuesday night’s midseason finale: An appearance from Ashley Benson (via video call) as Hanna, Caleb’s longtime girlfriend!
If you are a fan of the original show, it’s almost essential in some ways that you watch the midseason finale in order to get some more information on the relationship. Otherwise, you are left behind. Not only this, but we know (via E! News) that Hanna will actually be featured in an upcoming “Ravenswood” episode airing in the second half of the season. Just take a look at what she had to say on the subject:
“I actually don’t know what I’m doing at all when I’m over there, they won’t tell me anything. I’m like, wait are we together? Are we not together? What am I doing? Am I crying? I don’t even know what I’m doing.”
This is in the end a very smart strategy for the series to take on in making it almost necessary entertainment; our major qualm with “Ravenswood” right now comes via ABC Family. It would have been far more sensible to allow this show to be paired with “Pretty Little Liars” for at least the entire first part of its season rather than just one episode. Even “The Vampire Diaries” got a pair of opportunities (in the backdoor pilot and the premiere) to lend a helping hand to “The Originals,” and it had more than just one character making the move.
Following the “Ravenswood” midseason finale, the show is going to be on hiatus, and then the network will be doing the right thing and pairing the show with “Pretty Little Liars” starting on January 7.
