NBC’s ‘Parenthood’ season 5 spoilers: Jason Ritter books another appearance

The latest -We can’t imagine there being a guest star on “Parenthood” that is demanded to return to the show more than Jason Ritter, and the good news now is that you are going to see more of the man in at least one episode of the show’s fifth season.

According to a report from TVLine, Ritter will return as Mark for the 19th episode of this season, where he will share some scenes with at least one character not named Sarah. Of course, it would be a surprise if she does not also interact with Sarah at some point during the episode … given their history.

“Parenthood” still is not a ratings warrior for NBC by any means, but if there is one thing that we can say about it right now, it is that it is still a model of relative consistency. It draws better numbers than anything else that airs on Thursday nights, and imagine what it would do if it were actually on the same night against something that actually had a consistent viewership. Who knows? Maybe a little Mark will bring in some more live viewers, or at least a little bit of extra promotion. Compared to some of the other programs on the network, this one is almost always ignored (and rather sadly so).

Following the end of Mark’s time on the show, we had a very large dose of Ray Romano’s Hank, who has also been around this season.

We’ll have some more soon. “Parenthood” will continue to air on Thursday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time for the rest of the season.
