‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15, episode 9 preview: Amanda Rollins’ tricky situation

Law & Order: SVU logoNext week on “Law & Order: SVU” season 15, we are going to have an episode that basically puts Kellie Kiddish’s character of Amanda Rollins in a near-impossible situation: She needs to do her job as a detective, while at the same time trying to help her friend. The unfortunate situation that comes from this is that in doing her due diligence on the case, there is information that could end up compromising either her position as a good friend, or her position as a woman trying to do her job.

Before we do anything else, let’s start things out here by sharing what is the lengthy (and informative) full synopsis via NBC:

“Detective Amanda Rollins (Giddish) helps her friend Lena Olson (Amy Seimetz) press charges against her lover when she accuses him of rape. But Lena’s history with the suspect and her proclivity for rough sex makes the he-said she-said investigation too difficult to pursue. When the case escalates to murder, a dangerous love triangle is discovered and Rollins is forced to confess her private life on the stand.”

If there is one thing that fifteen years of this show have taught us, it is that one of the worst things that you can possibly do is be put into a situation where your personal feelings and your duties in an investigation actually start to collide with one another. We’re confident that the right thing will happen here in regards to the law, but whether or not Rollins is the person who is actually responsible for doing the right thing is the major mystery for now. She may need to have someone else come to bat for her in the end to help to clean up this messy and rather sad situation.

What do you think is going to happen on this “Law & Order: SVU” episode, and what do you think are the chances that Rollins makes it through this reasonably unscathed?
