‘The Mentalist’ season 6 spoilers: Did the explosion kill any Red John suspects?

Depending on how you look at it, the explosion at the end of Sunday night’s “The Mentalist” season 6 episode could be looked at as one of two things: A really awesome cliffhanger that triggered at least one death, or some sort of cheap getaway that everyone was going to survive.

So which one is it? Well, we now have at least some sort of answer for you. According to TVLine, there are “bodies” that will be found as a result of the explosion. Being that Jane and Lisbon (who was running to the door at the time of the explosion) are the two stars of the show, we have a really hard time believing that either one of them will be pushing daisies on the upcoming episode. However, don’t be surprised if at least one of the five “suspects” ends up dying. Of course, the most frustrating part of this for Jane would be if the dead suspects are the two that have more or less been ruled out already, thanks to them not bearing the famous three-dot tattoo.

We would be beyond shocked still to see that the three remaining for-sure suspects are dead, or even two of them. There is so much more intensity if the episode starts off if there are least two suspects remaining at the start of the episode, and Jane has to fight to figure out who of the two of them is the guilty party.. Personally, we would be surprised if the Sheriff survives this, mostly because he to us still seems like the least-likely person to be capable of all of the terrible things that Red John has been accused of on the show thus far. But, then again, stranger things have happened on this show.

Remember that by the end of “Red John” (airing a week from Sunday), we are likely going to have an end for this case once and for all. It will be following that where we see the show move in some other directions.
