2013 MTV EMAs: Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus win awards, capture most attention on the night
Compared to the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, we have a hard time believing that there is going to be the same amount of craziness or hoopla out there when it comes to talking about the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards. The EMAs were by and large timid, unless you count Miley Cyrus lighting up after winning an award in Amsterdam. To us, this is just the sort of thing that people who love Mary Jane just do in the city any time that they want to look cool or edgy. Hardly really surprising.
While we don’t quite understand the decision by MTV Europe to hide some of their videos and make them difficult for the public to find, that seems to be the way of it. Unless you want to see Miley twerk with a little person, the performance highlight from the show came with Katy Perry performing a colorful and symbolic version of her new hit “Unconditionally.” You can see that in the video at the bottom of this article.
As for the winners, it was a largely predictable bunch, and for a show that does have some sort of international label attached to it, the number of American winners here is pretty darn staggering. Not only that, but there may only be one or two names on here that you could be unfamiliar with in North America.
