2013 MTV EMAs: Where do you live stream red carpet, awards show?
While MTV is airing the 2013 EMAs tonight, both they and we recognize that some of you are the impatient types. It’s either that or some of you are just far too impatient to want to sit around and wait that long to see some of your favorites walk the red carpet, or perform at the show. The lineup tonight is incredibly robust, and includes the likes of Miley Cyrus, Ellie Goulding, Robin Thicke, The Killers, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, One Direction, and many more.
So where do you catch live coverage of the red carpet and the awards show itself? The best place to do that is simply over at the link here, where you will be able to see coverage of the pre-show starting at around 2:00 p.m. Eastern time or 11:00 a.m. Pacific. The show itself will really get rolling an hour later, meaning that those of you on the West Coast can be munching on brunch at the time in which the show actually comes on.
Our expectations for this show this year are high, and not just because the show is set in Amsterdam. (Sorry, it was too obvious to avoid.) Miley Cyrus is probably going to look to create another sort of stir after what she did with Thicke on stage at the VMAs earlier this year, and it will be up to Katy Perry or one of the other acts to try to top that. We doubt that they will go for that shock factor, given that most of them typically opt to focus more on the music and less on the spectacle.
From a personal standpoint, we are mostly excited to see what Goulding and The Killers each bring to the stage, and also to see how One Direction anchors a performance of their new song “Story of My Life,” which moves in a very different direction than anything that they have done before.
The one advantage to waiting around until the American special tonight (which you can read more about here) is that it will feature The Wanted as well as Austin Mahone. You also get an appearance from “Glee’s” Darren Criss, who is obviously a big draw with “Glee” fans.
