‘Dancing with the Stars’ week 8 rankings: Can Bill Engvall, Leah Remini hold on again?

Meet Bill -Eight weeks into “Dancing with the Stars” this season, and we don’t know what to be more surprised about: That Bill Engvall is still in the competition, or that we have already lost Christina Milian, Snooki, and Brand Daugherty. If you had this lineup in your office pool at work, someone probably owes you a prize. At least three of these people were close to sure things, but then we had two completely surprises and one in Jack Osbourne that we were a little unsure about before the show.

These rankings are going to be especially predictable now based on the divide between the contestants, but the basis on them is the same: Performance quality is first and foremost, but then voting history and fan following size come right into aeffect. That is the part that is very hard to gauge this season, when so many of the results have been kept under wraps.

6. Bill Engvall and Emma Slater (last week: 7) – It’s almost impossible to be mean to Bill. He’s the only person on this season that we’ve interviewed personally, and he’s such a nice, easy-going guy. That’s why people are voting for him to stick around, and will probably continue to do so. He’s not the best dancer, though, and that is why he has to be put in last again.

5. Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani (6) – Then again, neither is Leah. The reason that she is around still is because she, like with Bill, understands what voters go for. She has an interesting story, but she also has personality, humor, and an experienced partner in Tony Dovolani who knows how to get the best out of her.

4. Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke (4) – Jack still remains the wild card of this competition. Some days, we think he’s a finalist; other times, we think that h will be out next week. He is a nice guy and an inspiration, but we don’t see him getting really any higher than third place.

3. Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff (2) – A change in the top two! That is the first time this has happened in forever. The only reason we have for it is just that Corbin really is not as famous as anyone else in the top four, and as you get closer to the finale, that matters. Disney people have a great reputation of getting far, but they don’t have the greatest one of winning.

2. Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy (3) – Hats off to these two for getting this far, and being this consistent. But are they really going to be threats to win? Berkley is going to basically need as many diehard “Saved by the Bell” fans as possible to come on her and vote their brains out … but maybe she has a chance.

1. Amber Riley and Derek Hough (1) – Ironically, the ratings for “Glee” this year do make us worried that maybe the Amber Riley fan following is not necessarily what many people think that it is. But, with that being said, these two still have to be the favorites when you consider their high scores, the story that Amber has even away from “Glee,” and Derek’s own following.

As always, we want to hear your pick for #1 in the poll below!
