Fox wastes little time replacing ‘American Dad’ with another Seth MacFarlane show

Fox -In what should not be a surprise to anyone, Fox loves Seth MacFarlane … a lot. As a matter of fact, they love him so much that they are willing to hand him now a new show that will ensure that he will have two entries in the primetime lineup on Sunday nights after “American Dad” crosses over to its new home in TBS.

Fox has ordered to series a show entitled “Bordertown,” which to us actually sounds a little bit like a combination of “The Bridge” with NBC’s extremely short-lived comedy “Welcome to the Family.” Set in a town in America close to the Mexican boarder, it follows the friendships and relationships that actually start to from between two families. Here are the two main characters / patriarchs:

Bud Buckwald – He’s a married father of three children and also a Border Patrol agent who is starting to freak out in some ways by how much his neighborhood has changed culturally as of late. In other words, this feels somewhat like a stereotype.

Ernesto Gonzales – A Mexican immigrant and a father of four children who works hard, loves living in the country, and seems to be a pretty good guy.

This is a show that will have to try to break some of the recent bad luck with animated comedies. “Bob’s Burgers” is the last one to really get off of the ground and be successful to this point, and Seth’s attempts to revive “The Flintstones” have really ended up leading to squadoosh. That is still what we would consider to be the biggest failure of the animator’s career to date, though we’re pretty sure that you could also put the sheer creation of “Dads” somewhere on that list, as well.

Now, we simply ask you the following: Do you think that the world was really crying out or begging to have another Seth MacFarlane produced cartoon, and do you think that this is a premise that could actually stay on the air for a while? Share what you think below!
