Watch ‘American Idol’ alums Adam Lambert, Pia Toscano, and Todrick Hall get their villain on
Remember Todrick Hall from “American Idol” season 9? In case you haven’t heard from him lately, he’s made a great name for himself in the YouTube world courtesy of creating some great mini-musicals and parodies over the years. He’s one of those guys that you can tell has obviously hustled and worked very hard in order to achieve everything that he has, and it shows in some of the videos that he is putting out there … including what may be one of his favorite creations yet.
In what seems like a perfect video for the Halloween holiday, you can see below the likes of Adam Lambert, Pia Toscano, “Glee’s” Amber Riley, and others such as Shoshana Bean, Cassie Scerbo, Blake McGrath, and Kimberly Cole in what is a send-up of the classic “Cell Block Tango” from “Chicago” done by various Disney villains. It’s basically giving you the other side of the story, whether it be Riley’s Ursula, Toscano’s Malificent, or even a certain villain from “The Lion King.” Adam’s cameo is at the beginning, where he pulls off a mean Captain Hook.
The amazing thing is that these people were all able to get together for this despite everything else they have going on. For example, Riley has “Dancing with the Stars” right now in addition to “Glee” and Adam is also appearing on at least two episodes of the Fox series moving forward along with doing some gigs and working in some stage on an upcoming album (even if it is just conceptualizing).
In the end, we imagine that almost anyone from “American Idol” season 9 is going to have to work as hard as Todrick to get any sort of major success. This is the season that Fox seems desperate to forget for whatever reason, even if they have given Lee DeWyze at least a couple of appearances on the results show of the years.
What do you think about this video, and does it, combined with a new episode or two of “Once Upon a Time” this season, throw you into a Disney villain high? Click here if you want to take a listen into what “American Idol” is really trying to bring things back to the show’s glory days for season 13, and why we are actually somewhat optimistic that it could happen.
