‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: Alana De La Garza of flagship series returns

Law & Order: SVU logoWho else out there loves it when “Law & Order: SVU” chooses to bring in some actors from other iterations of the franchise? What you are going to love about this story in particular is that not only are we going to see an actor from the original “Law & Order” stop by, but their character will have moved up in the world since we last saw them.

In a post on her Twitter account, Alana De La Garza confirmed that she is going to be coming to the NBC series for an upcoming episode as Connie Rubirosa, but there is a twist. While she was an ADA back when the original show was on the air, TVLine claims that she is now back in New York after also appearing on the short-lived “Law & Order: LA” spin-off, and Connie will now be serving as a federal prosecutor. Clearly, she is pretty well-traveled now in between the three shows.

While there may not be many details available now as to what brings her into the fold of the Special Victims Unit, this is still a particularly notable story nonetheless. This franchise has fans who have been literally watching for decades, and they want to do whatever they can in order to pay homage to some of these people. De La Garza appeared in nearly 100 episodes of the franchise, in between the original show and the Los Angeles-set spin-off show.

So could this mean that there are some more appearances coming up from other past stars of the show? We can only hope so, since it would be a nice little way to celebrate fifteen years of “SVU,” and to also potentially boost ratings at a time in which the network needs it. Wednesdays and Thursdays have been particularly bad for NBC this year.
