‘The Mentalist’ season 6, episode 5 preview: See Patrick Jane, Ray Haffner’s reunion
Is Ray Haffner possibly Red John? He is at least one of the biggest suspects of being Patrick Jane’s biggest adversary, and he has thus been circled high on the list for quite a long time now. Therefore, the answer to that question is “yes.” He and four other people right now are still in the running towards being Red John.
By the end of Sunday night’s new episode of “The Mentalist” entitled “The Red Tattoo,” it is possible that there could only be four possible suspects to be Red John. One of the reasons why the list is starting to narrow down is simply because suspects keep dying (as we saw last week). Will Haffner suffer the same fate during this hour? It seems slightly unlikely at the moment, but we know that quite possibly the biggest clue yet to the man’s identity is going to be dropped during the episode. The question is whether or not Simon Baker’s character is going to be intuitive enough to see it, and whether we can say the same thing for most viewers at home.
Haffner’s going to be getting involved in the upcoming story courtesy only of his relationship with Visualize, that mysterious organization that Jane hilariously introduces in the clip below as a “cult.” Unfortunately, we don’t think anyone other than both ourselves and Jane is probably nearly as amused about the organizations’ new little nickname. Jane is going to be forced into working with one of his former bosses again on the case, and that poses both pluses and minuses:
The benefits – Getting the opportunity to stay close to someone who could be a very bad man. Given what the characters are working to uncover right now, isn’t that pretty helpful?
The disadvantages – The fact that he’s having to work with Haffner again at all. That doesn’t sound like a pleasant experience at all based on what the show has presented of the man over the years.
