Edward Norton previews ‘Saturday Night Live’ … with an egg to the face

Late Night with Jimmy FallonIn just over 24 hours as of this writing, the latest edition of “Saturday Night Live” will be upon us. Just in case that alone is not exciting to you, there is also something else that should make you smile: Seeing Edward Norton get an egg over his head while previewing the show on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night.

This is hardly the first time that Jimmy has played this game, and the premise behind it is pretty simple: There are a dozen eggs handed to you in a carton, and eight of them are hard-boiled. From there, you and Jimmy have to go back and forth in hopes of drawing out all of the hard-boiled eggs, but this usually does end in some sort of disaster. As you would have anticipated, the ending here for Norton is not one that he was likely hoping for (unless for some reason he actually does like getting eggs on his head).

Is it possible that Norton could have at least tried to enjoy the silliness a little bit more than he did? It’s possible, since he mostly just appeared here to be in some sort of constant state of misery about the whole thing (it’s either that or Edward is just aggressively quiet). We do at least feel for him here in that there is really no way to emerge from this sort of eggy mess without feeling like you need a cleaning crew with you ASAP. Just from participating in  this, we hope that it is a sign that Norton is going to be game for almost anything on the show this weekend. If we’re being totally honest, we don’t have huge expectations for a guy who is not really known for doing comedy work, and for a guy who has not really been in headlines for quite a while.

Meanwhile, if you are at least moderately excited about Norton’s show this weekend and want to preview it further, you can do so just be heading on over to the link here.
