ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Fitz, Meliie, and a cobra (video)

“Scandal” is many things, and apparently one of them is a show unafraid of innuendo. Just how many references to certain things that shall not be named here are there in Thursday’s episode? Let’s just say that the title of the hour is “Say Hello to My Little Friend” (more than just a line from “Scarface”), and the sneak peek video below makes a big use out of the word “cobra.”

This preview has to also be one of the most awkward ones that could possibly be created, given that it focuses on Mellie and Fitz sitting down and preparing for the day while also hearing a report from the news on TV. Just as you would expect given that he is a philandering husband, they are not particularly kind to him. Somehow, we imagine that Fitz probably saw this one coming a mile away.

Following the “Mellie gets drunk” hour this past week, we expect there to be a little bit more of a put-together First Lady now, especially as she tries to move forward with her own plan. If there is one thing that she has shown time and time again, it is that she is not going to give up what she wants without a fight and if she has to get nasty then she will. Get ready to expect much of the same sort of thing here, especially as Olivia tries once again to spare any young woman the shame of getting caught up in the government’s crosshairs. Let’s just hope that this episode plays a little bit of a more important role than the one that aired on the network last week, which was dramatic, but also something that we have started to become a little bit more conditioned to seeing over time.

But will Mellie and Fitz ever actually find peace with each other? We imagine that the odds of that happening are just about as high as the odds of these two characters building a palace in the clouds and becoming the king and queen of Planet Earth.
