‘Bones’ season 9, episode 6 spoilers: David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel on nostalgic wedding vows

The latest -Bones” fanatics, the wait is finally over. Tonight marks the wedding episode for Booth and Brennan, as well as the opportunity to finally see something that we have all waited for in some ways since the pilot.

Given that this moment is the culmination of nearly a decade’s worth of time together, it also looks like much attention is going to be given to the couple’s early days. Both of the wedding vows for the two characters, per Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz’s comments to USA Today, are actually coming straight out of moments that took place during the show’s early seasons. While it seemed as though the contents of what Brennan is going to say was set in stone for quite a long time, there has been a little bit more in the way of mystery attached when it comes to Booth. For an example of that, just take a look at what David Boreanaz had to say to the website:

“My vows were not where I wanted them to be after the first pass (at the script). I had to go back to Hart (Hanson, the show’s creator and executive producer). We needed to find a vehicle that was more of a personal moment for Booth, which I think we achieved.”

Obviously, the goal here for the show is to present a wedding that almost everyone would be satisfied with, so don’t expect some sort of last-second twist that keeps the couple from having their hopes and dreams come true. While there be a mystery in here that is a little bit more polarizing (mostly because it is a distraction from the main event), the episode itself is going to be all about love, looking back, and where Booth and Brennan go from here.

As we wrote in our most recent article on the subject, this is probably going to be the last episode for the show until November, and at that point, the show will move to Fridays. The irony here is that they could pick up with an hour in “The Dude in the Dam” that was actually filmed long before the wedding, and may not make any real reference to it at all.

We’ll have a full review for “The Woman in White (Wedding)” later, but for now, just how excited are you to see this play out? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below!
