‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ reunion review: Will (and should) Teresa Giudice stay?
But tonight, things were somber as we saw the season come to a close in a rare two-part reunion show. Lately, Andy Cohen has found a way to milk three weeks out of most of these, but we get the feeling that the cast didn’t want to sit around and argue over stupidity when there was Teresa Giudice’s indictment to deal with. This real-life serious event changed the entire tone of the show as it was no longer silly and/or crazy.
The major order of business was really seeing that Teresa was emotional, but that she was handling the charges put against her family as well as she can. While some of her co-stars, including Melissa Gorga, were not overly kind to her, there was at least a reasonably amount of sympathy as they played easy on some of the bigger issues of the season … primarily the whole cheating rumors that circulated around Melissa at the same time in which she was planning to release her book.
But is this the end for Teresa, and should Bravo consider a complete revamp? At this point, her journey is relevant, and there are a contingent out there interested in her journey if she stays out of jail. As for the others, Caroline Manzo is gone, and we would not be particularly stunned if either Melissa (who just constantly fights with Teresa) or Kathy Wakile joins her so that the show can get away from the constant regurgitation of family values for reality TV’s most-broken family. They are never going to be resolved so long as the cameras keep on rolling.
