NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: Blake Shelton’s chair breaks, Christina Aguilera touts heritage

Ready? -Tomorrow, the third week of the blind auditions is going to kick off on “The Voice,” and this is the time where we are really going to see some of the drama (and the fun) be taken up a notch. The coaches are almost done choosing their teams, and the fight for the last remaining good contestants will be on, so expect Adam to bring out his best used car salesman pitches and Blake to snatch up the rest of the good country singers.

One of the things that we are perhaps most curious about when it comes to this show is about the contestants: Are the better contestants placed early, just to ensure that they can pick any coach that they want? While we may be on that conspiracy train for the most part, Amber Carrington is a good example of someone who went late in the show last spring, and ended up going really far into the season with Adam Levine as he made her into a country singer with the capability of doing all sorts of other things, as well.

But this video isn’t really about the contestants; it’s about the coaches, and the ridiculous things that they are going to try to do to one-up each other and get some more members on their teams. Christina Aguilera is going to try to identify with a Latin performer as being half-Ecuadorian, and Cee Lo Green counters by saying that he is “half awesome” (we disagree and say that he’s “all awesome”). Also, Blake Shelton suffers a chair malfunction, which is pretty funny since it forces him to take a look with his own body to make sure that he has a chance to talk with the contestant. (Why not just get out of the chair at that point?)

If the blind auditions (the best part of this show) must end, at least they will be ending with some fun and strong competition between the judges over the best singers.
