‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 4, episode 5 spoilers: Nucky Thompson and a tricky situation

There is no problem too big or too small for Nucky Thompson, but strangely, almost all of them involve death. This is of course what inevitably happens when you get yourself mixed up in the sort of business that this guy does on a regular basis, and he finds himself in the “cleaning up” business in one of the sneak peek videos below from Sunday night’s new “Boardwalk Empire” episode.

In it we have someone who is more or less a victim of just having too much to drink. A terrible situation sure, and it’s made worse by the sole fact that there are young people involved … especially some that may not be giving up the right information and how well they knew some of the folks involved in the business.

As for the other preview, think more along the lines of a woman who is very clearly on the brink. This is what happens when a drug addiction takes its toll, and they turn to very sexual things to try and make up for some social flaws that they are suffering from. For us, this is the less exciting of the two sneak peeks, mostly because the chain of events from one thing to the other is just so predictable, and we say that during what has been a rather unpredictable season.

“Boardwalk Empire” is onto something this year. You may or may not be watching, but it feels like the show has finally recovered from the exit of Michael Pitt, and is moving on to tell some great stories. Also, Jeffrey Wright is amazing, and could take Bobby Cannavale’s place at the Emmy ceremony next year depending on what the competition is like.
