‘Breaking Bad’ finale: If only this could join the ‘Better Call Saul’ spin-off (video)

Big news -Now that we are a few days’ removed from the ‘Breaking Bad” series finale, isn’t this the time to start thinking a little bit about spin-off shows? Sure, you already know a thing or two about “Better Call Saul” starring Bob Odenkirk, but what about a new series that really puts Lavell Crawford’s Huell front and center.

Well, that’s at least what he tries to do in the latest Funny or Die video, as we have a very TBS-esque sort of trailer for “Huell’s Rules,” the story of what happens when Huell’s wife and kids suddenly show up and visit him in his little hotel-room compound. From that point on, it basically turns into a Tyler Perry comedy, completely with Crawford dressing up as a woman and playing his own grandmother. There is an annoying little catchphrase as well, just to get it even more of that 1970s sitcom feel.

While you may get a few mild laughs in this, we actually are curious as to whether or not Crawford could have any role at all in “Better Call Saul” when the show comes on the air in the future. Personally, we see it as unlikely given that Lavell did not turn up until season 4, and the only way it would therefore work is if the show decided for whatever reason to show some of what Saul was up to when Walt and Mike were not around at this point in the series. We anticipate this show as being more of a prequel into what the early days of the attorney looked like, and how he got himself involved in so many crooked schemes.

Tell us: Which one of these spin-off ideas actually looks funnier? Be sure to share below! Meanwhile, also take a look here if you want to see already just how much of an impact the “Breaking Bad” finale has had on the world of music.
