NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 2: See Lecter featured in first poster

The latest -While you may still have quite a while to wait until “Hannibal” season 2 comes back on the air early next year (think at least four months, if not longer), NBC has at least been kind enough to share what is the first super-creepy poster for the new season. If you look below, you can basically see Lecter sporting a set of antlers, a very different sort of skin, and something that looks straight from the mind of Will Graham’s dreams (or from executive producer Bryan Fuller).

It was Fuller who helped to design the poster along with the folks at RocketScience, and he explained in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly some of what was the inspiration behind it:

“After a horrifying descent into madness in season 1, this image ironically represents the perspective of a scrappier, clearer-minded Will Graham in season 2.  The scales have fallen from his eyes and he finally sees Hannibal Lecter for the monster he is.”

In the end, this image is not only beyond creepy, but it fits perfectly into what the image of this version of “Hannibal” has evolved to be. We also do appreciate that the show is not even waiting to try and promote the new season of the show until early next year; given the high quality of content for it this past year, this is something that could have a following build up during the off-season much in the way that “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad” during their early seasons. There’s no guarantee at the show having more success in the future, but we give the network a good deal of credit for giving it at least this much of a chance.

Do you dig this new “Hannibal” poster? Be sure to share what you think below! Meanwhile, click here if you want to see what Fuller had to say recently about some of the surprises that are going to be in store when the show comes back to TV.
