‘Camp’ unsurprisingly canceled by NBC after only one season

We'll wait and see -There are some cancellations that you see coming a mile away, even during the summer months when the ratings expectations are traditionally a little bit lower. One of these said cancellations? NBC’s “Camp.” The numbers were low even with the fact in mind that it aired after “America’s Got Talent,” and while we don’t entirely blame them for a pretty terrible promotional effort on their part, it was still sent packing nonetheless.

Sources have confirmed that the show is indeed canceled, but given that there was little buzz out there on a possible renewal, it was no surprise. NBC seems to still be pretty set on what they believe to be a solid summer lineup. They already have “America’s Got Talent” sitting pretty as their anchor, and they also have “American Ninja Warrior” as a pretty solid contributor to go along with it. They are going to be looking especially now for their own version of “Under the Dome,” and maybe they will find that eventually. However, it is still probably going to take a little time, since hits in the summertime are not something that is particularly easy to find.

With the “Camp” cancellation out of the way, we are assuming that another NBC series in “Siberia” is also probably done. “Rookie Blue” and “Mistresses” are going to be back on ABC, and the fate is still out on another popular show (at least with fans) in “Whodunnit?”. We expect that the lineups for almost all of the summer shows on the network roster are going to be decided by the end of this month, since you’re otherwise cutting it short in the planning process.

What is your reaction to the “Camp” news: Surprised, or disappointed? We want to hear all of your thoughts on the subject below!
