‘The Simpsons’ spoilers: Character to die either in season 25, 26
For the third time in its 25-year history of being on television, “The Simpsons” is about receive a visit from the Grim Reaper. For the time being, the only question remaining is just who will be the character receiving said visit.
In a story first reported by The Sun News this week, executive producer Al Jean claimed that the character who will not see the light of day beyond the year 2014 is an actor who won the Emmy for the part. This narrows down the options significantly, but even with that, it is always difficult to know what the writers for this series are thinking so far in advance. Plus, this show is such that killing someone off is not exactly a guarantee that they are gone forever. There could be a dream sequence, or maybe a zombie version of them will come out and haunt the world during one of the annual Treehouse of Horror specials.
As of right now, here are all of the feasible options for who could be killed off.
-Apu, Moe, Cletus, or Chief Wiggum, who are all voiced by Hank Azaria.
-Grampa Simpson, Barney, Major Quinby, Sideshow Mel, Groundskeeper Willie, Krusty, or Homer Simpson, who were all voiced by Dan Castellaneta. It seems impossible that the show goes on with Homer, so go ahead and write that one off as a possibility.
-Penelope, voiced by Anne Hathaway.
-Sideshow Bob, voiced by Kelsey Grammer.
We are anxious to even guess, but from this standpoint the latter two names do feel almost like the runaway favorites, given that neither is currently a part of the regular cast. If one of the other characters died, it would just mean that the voice actor would have one less person to do.
This news is the latest big thing that “The Simpsons” has planned, as there is also a crossover episode that will be happening at one point in 2014.
