‘Dancing with the Stars’ 17 preview: Bill Nye’s fate to be revealed

Tonight could be a rough one for Bill Nye on “Dancing with the Stars.” If he is unable to dance, he will likely be the next celebrity eliminated from the show. If he does manage to dance, he’s probably not going to be good since he’s had virtually no chance at all to rehearse. Therefore, his scores will be so low that he is almost eliminated from the show that way.  Ultimately, it’s going to be hard for him to survive past tonight.

At the end of the day, our feelings are torn when it comes to Bill’s likely exit. Is he the right person to leave? If you are talking strictly about getting the worst dancer off of the show, then yes. There is almost no question that everyone out there is better than him. However, we can also think of a good two or three people that we would like to see leave before him. He brings not only entertainment to the show, but something completely different than what we traditionally see. There is something that comes from watching a guy try his hardest despite not really having any experience with it at all, especially in comparison to watching someone else do this when they have already been on Broadway, or danced in music videos.

But in addition to whatever happens with Bill tonight, the show will go on and there are a number of other routines that will be performed. This is the part of the season where the competition is really taken up another notch, which means that some other performers such as Valerie Harper and Bill Engvall may have to find another gear to what they are doing if they want to survive.
