‘The X Factor’ USA: Fifth Harmony, ‘Miss Movin’ On,’ and radio success

Fifth HarmonyWhen Fifth Harmony’s “Miss Movin’ On” first started its climb on the radio earlier this summer, there were moments when we thought it was peaking before really getting into the “top 40” that the pop chart was known for. It’s incredibly tough to have a hit single these days, especially when you are a new girl group, which is not exactly something that has been that active in American pop music ever since the days of Destiny’s Child.

But slowly and surely, Fifth Harmony has managed to get themselves some solid momentum going and a nice hit out of their first-ever song sent to radio. “Miss Movin’ On” is sitting at #31 on the top 40 chart at the moment, and is very close to moving into the top 30. That’s pretty rare for acts who have appeared on the American version of “The X Factor“; as a matter of fact, the ladies, Emblem3, and Chris Rene are the only three acts to really have any sort of radio success at all right now.

How high do we see this song going? With requests still piling in, there is still some gaining to do. Also, you have to remember that in addition to their spot touring with Cher Lloyd, we imagine that they will get some additional publicity via “The X Factor” later this year. We imagine that both them and Emblem3 will for sure be invited back for a performance, as they will have all sorts of music to promote at that time. (The group’s EP “Better Together” will be in stores come October 22.)

Obviously, we want to be your source for all of your favorite “X Factor” acts! Click here for some more news on Fifth Harmony, and be sure to also check out some of the other pressing information from this current season.
