‘Criminal Minds’ season 9, episode 2 preview: First look at ‘The Inspired’

Did you enjoy the premiere of “Criminal Minds” season 9 tonight? If so, how about a little more? We’re here precisely for the reason of teeing up what is going to be coming during the second episode of the year … which will of course be a continuation directly of what you saw in the premiere. The title here is “The Inspired,” which we figure may be one of the least-inspiring titles ever created by anyone. Not only that, but it is virtually impossible to really pull anything out of it.

Now, let’s move to the next phase of setting up the story ahead: Presenting the full synopsis for the episode:

“As the BAU zeroes in on the suspect of the ritualistic killings they’ve been investigating in Arizona, a bizarre connection within the UnSub’s family could lead them to finally nab the suspect.”

By the end of this episode, at least the immediate aftermath from what transpired in the finale will be over. From there, the story will shift more into figuring out what happens next for most of our favorite characters, and giving us what is reportedly going to be one of the major themes of season 9: Giving us a look at individual stories about the characters’ past. All of this will be building up to a milestone hour, and also an opportunity to learn a little more about our main character in Hotch (which is both much-needed and long-overdue).
