‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 12 preview: Jennifer Carpenter’s Deb fights for survival

What's next? -Is Deb doomed to die on the “Dexter” series finale Sunday night? While things were not looking very good for her after Oliver Saxon shot her during this past episode, you may say based on the sneak peek below that things are actually heading somewhat in the right direction for her again. Granted, she is quite a ways away from being in a position where she can actually smile and think about getting up and walking around.

In the sneak peek below, Quinn tries to act like Deb’s knight in shining armor as he consoles her from the ambulance, telling her that she is going to be okay. Jennifer Carpenter’s character then says that she is starting to feel almost like she is coming around, and she makes a pretty interesting comment that suggests she legitimately feels like she may have deserved to die. He presses her for a second, but then all that she will say is that she has done some pretty horrible stuff in her life.

We’re surprised that in this moment that Quinn does not think back to her “confession” from earlier this season; then again, maybe he does, and he just does not mention it. Instead, he tries his best to reassure her that everything is going to be okay, and that there is nothing for her to worry about since they can both make up for some of the terrible things that they have done in their lives together. That’s an interesting way to look at it, but we suppose that whatever helps the two of them feel better about themselves at this time makes sense.
