‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3, episode 1 preview: Neverland footage included in new trailer

Ready to dive head-first into Neverland? After weeks of being force-fed the same “Once Upon a Time” clips again and again, the video below contains some of the first real footage from the actual season 3 premiere airing on ABC on Sunday, September 29.

Based on what we are seeing here, we look to be in for a wild ride. Did you expect Neverland to be somewhat cheerier? We almost surely expect that you did, but the problem here is twofold: The show is not looking to give us a take on the famed world that is all happiness and sunshine, and we’re also looking here at a product that films in Vancouver. Good luck trying to find a chunk of sunny days in a city lying directly on the Pacific Ocean.

There are some cool sights in here, including some more battles, lush scenery, and Emma once again warning Regina to get out of her way. There is also a shot of Henry running through the forest, which is at least a sign that he is going to be on the same island, and can be found. We still don’t imagine, though that this is going to be a very easy task to accomplish.

Save for this, there is still admittedly quite a bit of content in this trailer that you have seen before, in between some flashback images, the ship going through the portal to another world, and a general sort of recap of how we have gotten in this position in the first place. You may understandably hate it, but the purpose here clearly seems to be to draw in more fans to the show.

This promo comes after ABC has released some new posters promoting the new season, including one featuring Colin O’Donoghue’s Captain Hook standing in front of the Moon.
