NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5: LeVar Burton returns to set!

Let’s hope that Troy has something more to say now to LeVar Burton after his infamous “you can’t disappoint a picture” rant. The actor is now back on “Community” for seemingly another guest spot.

It was LeVar himself who first revealed the news courtesy of a series of posts on his Twitter account, where he showed himself alongside the likes of Donald Glover and Joel McHale. The good news that comes out of this is that he will clearly be coming back before Glover leaves, as the actor is only going to be in the first five episodes of this season.

Now, the biggest question that remains is just what in the world LeVar is going to be doing back on the show, given that Pierce Hawthorne is now gone, and that was the reason why he showed up in the first place to try and spend some time with Troy. Whatever it is, we’re sure that it will be hilarious, given that this man is Troy’s kryptonite.

LeVar is a series regular right now on TNT’s “Perception,” but he has also guested multiple times on “The Big Bang Theory.” Of course, his major claims to fame are the one-two punch of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” along with “Reading Rainbow,” which still lives on via dedicated app that many use to introduce the series to their kids.

One other interesting factoid about this gig? This is something that has apparently been in the works for a very long time. LeVar originally said at Fan Expo in Toronto last year that he was going to be making an appearance during season 4,

“Community” season 5 still does not have a premiere date, but we will most more when it happens.
