See Ben Affleck, Jimmy Fallon hilariously talk ‘Batman,’ internet rage (video)

Late Night with Jimmy FallonAt this point, the news has probably started to sink in a little bit: Ben Affleck is going to be Batman for an upcoming feature film alongside Henry Cavill’s Superman, and not everyone who frequently uses the internet is altogether pleased about it.

As a matter of fact, there is probably one word you can use to describe many fans at the moment: Livid. The reactions were nasty, with most of them choosing to remember only Daredevil and not the dozen or so awesome things that Affleck has done both before and after that bumpy stage in his career. During an interview on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night, the two sat down and actually talked some of it out, and Affleck had a pretty great sense of humor about it.

First of all, Ben said that he was a “big boy” and could handle “any snub,” which was also a wonderful little dig at the Oscars for not giving him any love as a director for “Argo.” From there, he also opened up a little bit about how his manager basically told him to stay off of the internet following the announcement, mostly because all former Batman actors have been torn apart by fans prior to the news actually being unveiled.

So Affleck had a warning … but, he of course went ahead and looked online anyway. Do you want to know what the first reaction he had to the news was? Then just take a look in the video below.
