‘Breaking Bad’ breaks another record; could it be at ‘Walking Dead’ numbers by finale?

What's next -Breaking Bad” continues to break very, very well … at least when it comes to some of the ratings that the show continues to draw.

For an episode that we an other critics dubbed the most powerful installment in the history of the show, AMC saw ratings of over 6.4 million viewers, and also a stunning rating of 3.2 in the 18-49 demographic. This is a new high for the series, and it also happens to be the second-best performance of any drama on the network save for “The Walking Dead.” It’s exponentially higher than it was for the show at the beginning of its run, and it only leads to the following question: Just how high could the ratings go from here on out?

While we don’t want to make huge predictions, given that we are talking about a show here that will be up against the premiere of many shows on primetime TV come September 29, we still expect the numbers to be somewhere in the ballpark of 7 million viewers, and then a 4.0 in the demo. These would completely shame everything on the major networks, bring the show closer to “Walking Dead” territory, and yet again prove that the biggest success to ratings is not advertising or having stupid hashtags that you are supposed to use while watching your show. Instead, it is making sure that you have a high-quality program that people want to actually watch.

How big do you think that the ratings for the “Breaking Bad” finale will be? Be sure to share below! Also, click here if you want to see a preview for the second-to-last episode of the show, which bears with it the mysterious title of “Granite State.”
