‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: How Mariska Hargitay’s Benson moves forward

There are tough times ahead on “Law & Order: SVU” for a certain Olivia Benson. and you have to wonder just how she is going to recover from what happens to her during an intense, heart-wrenching two-hour premiere on September 26 that contains some of the hardest work that she has had to do.

Well, we now at least have a few details on what she will immediately do following up her traumatic situation. She will make it through the situtaiton alive, but judging from the tiny detail that we have about it in the official synopsis for “American Tragedy,” it is still going to be very much on her mind:

“A string of rapes on the Upper West Side raises concerns across the city, and while Detectives Tutuola (Ice-T) and Rollins (Kelli Giddish) question everyone who fits the suspect’s description, celebrity chef Jolene Castille (Shepherd) fears she’s the next victim when someone follows her home. The SVU arrests her for shooting and killing the unarmed teen, and her attorney (Tambor) faces off against ADA Barba (Raúl Esparza) in a trial that tests the limits of the jury’s moral and legal responsibilities. Meanwhile, Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) continues to struggle with the aftermath of her traumatic ordeal.”

The rest of this episode really feels somewhat like business as usual, though the presence of this “celebrity chef” is just Paula Deen 2.0. Can’t you at least disguise it a little better than this?
