‘MasterChef’ USA finale review: Was Luca Manfe or Natasha Crnjac the season 4 winner?

What happened? -It’s been a fun, dramatic, and at times very bizarre season of “MasterChef,” but one week before the new Fox schedule arrives in full force, it’s time to say goodbye. Given that this show basically draws similar ratings to “The X Factor,” we have a feeling that Fox will miss it. (Then again, that is probably why they are bringing “MasterChef Junior” on the air for the fall.)

During tonight’s season 4 finale, we had basically what was the final showdown between Natasha Crnjac and Luca Manfe, who has each had their fair share of highs and lows this season. While we would consider Luca to be the more-likable contender of the two when you consider the edit, Natasha has actually been the stronger overall cook when you look at the amount of praise she has received.

Regardless, it’s pretty hard to be upset about either one of these people winning, since this season is such a grind that you really have to be fantastic if you are going to make it all the way to the end. About forty minutes into this episode, we felt as though Luca really was starting to crumble as his dessert fell apart, but this is “MasterChef” and we’ve clearly learned by now that things can change and change quickly.

And change it did! Luca was indeed the winner of this season, and he has an opportunity now to celebrate with his own cookbook, and the title that comes with “MasterChef.” We talked to Luca a little earlier in the day, and we are going to have more of that later in the week.
