‘The X Factor’ UK: James Arthur, Union J each premiere brand-new singles

Take a look -Just a little over a week after the premiere of “The X Factor” UK, the reigning champion has finally released his debut single, along with a cover that makes it look like he is waiting for someone to come and serve him a menu.

“You’re Nobody ‘Til Somebody Loves You” is a song that is definitely energetic, and it is a great showcase for James’ signature style. There is a little bit of a retro sound to it, and the only surprise here is that there is not even more of the urban sound we saw from him on the show. While we don’t know if this is a song that could fare as well in America as some by his fellow former contestants a la Cher Lloyd, Little Mix, or One Direction, this is going to be an instant hit over in Britain. His show single “Impossible” sold over a million copies and was a huge hit over the course of the holiday season, and that is always a nice indicator of some possible success down the road.

Take a lookMeanwhile, some other guys who competed against James on the show this past year in Union J also released a new single today in “Beautiful Life” that, like the aforementioned song, will be released for sale on October 20. (Why so late?) This song is pretty great for the boy-band genre that has occasionally delved into cheese. The song sounds reminiscent at times of their debut single “Carry You,” and they have a sound that is slightly more adult-contemporary than some of the bands that are on the market. While it may not make them into a global success, they are setting up for a long career with this sort of music. If they love performing, than this is definitely the smarter idea.
